Never Again…

So, I recently was late on my payment for the website.

I thought it would go down immediately, but it didn’t, and I just made a payment.

Never again will I let it go down.

I am getting horrible hours at work, so why not work from home on my own business?

I make all types of clay things, from ashtrays and incense holders to jewelry and statues. I need to monetize this.

I have a whole bunch that I made a few years ago, but I would rather make more. I can sell some of the old ones, but some are really personal and stay with me.

I started making them because my friend Mike had a bunch of clay that he made from the dirt in the backyard. He went through the whole process of extracting the clay from the dirt and everything else he dug up. It took him a long time, but he had a grocery bag full of high quality clay when he was done.

Mike actually hooked up the clay too. He made a really nice cat head that was detailed and beautiful. He gave it to his daughter, Brayleigh. She thought it was so cool, and so did I. So, Mike gave me some of the clay, and I made a bunch of stuff. I felt like I was 5 years old again.

I was hooked, and I had to make more. Mike gave Brayleigh and I the rest of the clay, and we had a field day with it. Brayleigh made all types of cool little things, some for Mike, her mom, everybody. I made Mike an incense holder and an ashtray.

But once it was all gone, I started to buy clay from different places. Then, YouTube suggested a video of someone who made clay, using a few things I had and I few things I could get. I went down that path.

Mike went through a long process to make that high quality clay, and I didn’t want to bother him to make more, or do it myself the same way he did. I tried with the dirt, and failed immediately. He tried to show me but i was impatient and wanted it fast. His process took a few days. I wanted it to take an hour or two.

I tried many different mixes of ingredients. In the beginning, they sucked. Too brittle. Drop it and it’s in pieces. But over iterations, I got better. Now I think I finally get it!

Mike passed away last year, in September. It was devastating, to say the least. He was only 38 years old. Just writing about it is making me sad, so I will end that line of thought by saying that I want to honor him by selling my clay products.

I titled this “Never Again”, and I went off in a tangent about Mike and clay. I tend to do that, so if you’re new here, this is normal.

The title still makes sense for me though. Never again will I let the site go down, unless I do it on purpose to do something else.

Never Again will I act small and meek. That doesn’t mean be rude and loud, it just means believing in myself. My friend Ladi Zu The Music Healer sent me info about a place that I can sell my stuff, with a picture of someone selling stuff that looked just like mine. Plus, in Little 5 Points, and all over, there are plenty of places I can set up a shop or get my stuff into. It’s really on me now. I can do this online and in person! I’m ready!

Well, not yet. Still gotta get a few things right, but I will be ready soon!
