The Jay Z situation...
As a fan of hip-hop, I feel the need to speak on the way Jay-Z has been moving lately. Yes, it's none of my business. However, as someone who has spent money on Jay Z's music, I feel the need to add my 2 cents.
First off, that freestyle: trash. He came out there biting Ab Soul's style, looking just like him, or Eazy E or Bone Thugs. He brags about stabbing Lance “Un” Rivera, something he swore on songs that he did not do. He made fun of Dame Dash, someone who was a major reason why he's even known. Basically, I wasn't feeling it.
Then we have the whole nostalgia play, which I am not feeling either. Reasonable Doubt is considered a classic, and I like many songs he has done, but he's in the Epstein Files, along with Pusha T.
Both of them love to rap about how they have been selling drugs and committing all types of crimes. I believe them. It's not a stretch for me to believe that in 1996 Pusha T was a “Baby Faced Monster” “selling Johnson & Johnson”, as he said he was in “Nosestalgia” featuring Kendrick Lamar. I can see him selling drugs to young people who are so happy to be around rich people who have yachts and private islands.
Jay Z being on a yacht in his early videos screams, “I'm involved in crime and I use music to wash the money” as he loves to say in his music. It's not a stretch to believe he was involved in human trafficking too. I mean if you freely admit to murder and drug dealing, what's a little human trafficking gonna hurt, right? Money is money, right??
No, it's not cool. All money ain't good money. Real people were hurt, killed, eaten. Don't get me started on the woman Jay-Z had in his Picasso Baby video, the “spirit cooker”. Plus all the stuff Jaguar Wright said about him, and the stuff many people over the years have been saying. I can't ignore that for nostalgia.
So yeah, I don't rock with Jay-Z anymore. I made a couple of videos about this, but deleted them because I didn't like the quality. But the feeling still stands.
